This one will be a slow burner. But yeah everyone I have been playing with, with a couple of exceptions, is loving it. The exceptions are COD Noobs that are getting their a$$es handed to them.

Well you could wait for it to get cheaper in a month or two. Maybe get a used copy. Probably in the summer when this rush of games is released you'll be able to get a used copy cheap. I have L4D and L4D2 on my PC and I choose to play MAG. L4D2 is pretty much L4D with a couple new zombies and 5 new maps, not that I didn't enjoy it a lot. MAG is 15 huge maps and there ain't no game like it.

Yeah the turn around is great. It's like one non-stop action fest. I'm loving this sh1t. At level 9 and trying to become a medic.

The servers were down for the 10 minute update that they mentioned would happen yesterday. They're up now.
And I would rather they focus all their resources and making an awesome online than tack on some BS campaign like Modern warfare 2 did.

The reviews are bullsh1t. IGN gives it a 7 for sound. The game is THX certified with DTS HD. You can hear the armor crunching when the characters run, the panting is really well done. Clearly they are basing this review on the beta because the beta didn't have THX quality sound or maybe they are playing the game off of a crt screen with 10 W Tv speakers.
I also got it because it was hyped and I thought besides the visuals which looked great the game was kinda boring and the only thing that I enjoyed gameplay wise was hacking the machines which is pretty sad.
I just picked up MAG and it's sweet. I am passing on this because I didn't like the first one. If I was interested though I wouldn't get the PS3 version I'd get the PC version for $15 off steam and get the first game free. Now that is a deal, so suck it console only owners.

I commend them for stating what they thought was bad about the game. I would at least think Eurogamer wouldn't jump on the band wagon but they did nothing but praise. From the people (or should I say pirates) I know who have played it they agree that there is very little in the way of RPG. They say that it is just another TPS set in space. I will try it probably in April/May once it's on sale.
You have to question whether this is a smart move. The people who already own a 360 will probably buy the game but I wouldn't expect many new converts. Most people will probably just wait until it comes out on the PS3 with the bonus content. There may even be less sales on the 360 because of the tales incident where the 360 owners didn't get the exclusive content. Maybe MH is using Natal and that is the big way to get Natal in people's homes.

Killzone 3 needs bigger maps and vehicles. That game was the best shooter of 2009 hands down. In my opinion it is the best shooter on a console.
Valor first. Then Raven. Then S.V.E.R. It doesn't matter what side you are playing on; if you are playing you win.
So one less map than modern warfare. Considering how big the maps are in MAG I think they have done really well. You can fit 2 MW2 maps in 1 MAG map. MW2 only had 1 good mode which was team death match.
Meh every game on PC comes in at $50 retail. Then you get steam deals that knock off $5-$15. And then you get the crazy steam deals where you get the original game free a la Bioshock 2 for $45.
Games with no online just aren't worth getting for full price. I can't justify it. A game that takes less than 30 hours to beat should be less than $40. Online is the future of RPGs Demon's Souls was just the start.
I pretty much expect it from playing so many PC games. Not that I mind it gives me time to prepare for the ensuing gaming marathon.
Gears of War 2 came out in November 2008. But if you look at the PS3 and the 360 you can't argue that the PS3 is the console for shooters. Since the last exclusive FPS on the 360 Halo 3 there have been 3 exclusive on the PS3 MAG, Resistance 2 and Killzone 2. Quite possibly there will be Resistance 3 and Starhawk added this year to compete with Halo: Reach.
